Family photos are my favorite…of course. I say it all the time! The last family photos we took were in the spring when I was about 20 weeks pregnant with Scotti! I wore the most beautiful PinkBlush dress for those photos, and I was so excited to wear another dress from PinkBlush for our fall photos! I love their dresses so much; They always make me feel so pretty and fancy! Pinkblush carries maternity, regular, and plus size clothing! They have something for everyone!
Anyway, I had been so looking forward to taking our fall photos this year because Scotti would be in them!! I had fun picking out Scotti’s little outfit, and finding Beckham some suspenders that matched her skinny jeans. I also fell in love with the little boots that I found for Beckham. I am in love with the dress I got for these photos, too! These pictures were going to be perfect!!
So, did the pictures live up to expectations? Heck no. It was probably the coldest day we’ve had this fall. It was sooo windy. Scotti was so tired and fussy, and also so so cold and miserable. And Beckham just wanted to run wild, and not pose for the camera. The photo shoot was complete chaos. Seriously. We rushed back to the car, blasted the heat, and drove home with two screaming babies in the back seat. Guys, this is real life. This is the stuff that goes on behind the scenes that you don’t hear about. I was literally having to say, “I’m not going to be disappointed….” over and over to Jared in the car on the way home. I was just so bummed. The photo shoot didn’t go the way I had imagined. We didn’t get one picture of just Beckham and Scotti together. Not one picture of just me and Beckham. It was so rushed..so cold…so miserable.
So why am I sharing this? Because I want you to know that life isn’t perfect, and a whole lot goes on behind the scenes of every single picture I share. Motherhood is sooo beautiful, so messy, and so so hard. I wish we could all be more open with each other about the struggles of motherhood and come together and support each other! This season we are in is tough, but it’s just a season, and there are soo many sweet moments within it!
So here a few photos that we did manage to get in the midst of the chaos. They are far from perfect, but I love the way they turned out.
